We’d taken off from Oxford city centre. Looking up inside

the balloon canopy was like looking into a circus tent. I loved the patterns made by the fabric panels and seams. Then the sudden burst of flame from the burners. The Yellow and Orange of the flame went well against the Bright Red of the balloon and the incredible heat produced a heat haze which distorts the image a little. At that point I wish I’d heeded the advice to wear a hat to protect my head from the heat.
